Stepping Up...

Walking With The Wounded has supported tens of thousands of veterans and their families over the last 14 years. When they needed a new campaign to stand out online, encouraging a deeper connection with people to consider regular donations, they turned to Hotwolf.

The campaign needed a central hook, which could play out across multiple video edits, social posts, website and more. It became clear early on when talking to WWTW staff, caseworkers and ex-service people just how complicated the issues surrounding veteran transition can be. Our goal was to convey this through interviews with both the passionate people who work for WWTW, and the moving story of one veteran who has turned his life around with their support.

Spotlighting the amazing work the charity does to help those who have served, we asked viewers themselves to Step Up.

Multiple Audiences

To amplify the message, the films end with a ‘support wall’ of the wider WWTW team, veteran beneficiaries and regular supporters, all adding their voice to the call to Step Up.

The ‘hero’ edit was designed to be a fuller explanation of WWTW’s work, the challenges they face and covering more of our veteran Dwayne’s story. We created shorter edits for website and email outreach, where a warmer audience needed less introduction and explanation of their work.

We also filmed bespoke segments which could cut together with other footage to create multiple social videos for use on Instagram, Facebook and more – as both Paid and Organic social assets…

Bespoke Socials to Widen Reach

Using staged and reportage photography taken on the shoot days, we created a suite of additional assets to help widen the campaign reach on Instagram, Facebook and beyond – social statics, carousels, banners, print and motion posters; using select clips to bring clear CTA messaging to life with visual pop.
